Great Key West restaurant, for the incredible food, great service, and beautiful sunset view. It is It is a little pricey, but not too bad. They do not charge you to share a plate, which I really appreciate. The Tuna Tostadas small plate was delicious. The Caramelized Grouper large plate was also good, as was the Lobster & Mac side plate. I wanted dessert, but we were SO full.

Our hotel suggested this Restaurant and it was an excellent suggestion. This restaurant has a very nice & sophisticated feel. This is an excellent choice if you are looking for a classy feel. They have an outdoor terrace which overlooks the ocean. Since we were going to be a group of 12 I did call a few weeks in advance to make the reservation. They kindly called me to confirm the day of the reservation. Our table was ready when we arrived & they really made an effort to treat us like royalty. The food was exquisite and all my friends in the table agreed it was wonderful. The service was also wonderful. The manager also kindly stopped by to welcome us. I definitely recommend if you are in Key West and want to have a nice dinner. Enjoy!

They're open for lunch! Maybe it's not widely known that they serve lunch, because when we were there it was practically empty. The view, the service, and the food were impeccable. Our server, Nancy, was not only welcoming and friendly, but attentive to our needs. We ordered the bento boxes, which included a soup, salad, sandwich, and a side - plenty of food to go around!

We waited for the sunset here last Friday and enjoyed the ceviche so much we ordered a second dish. It consists of cubed Mahi in lime with fresh guacamole and taro chips. Presentation was excellent as it was served in a stainless steel pot. My wife enjoyed the Key Lime Pie Martini while I tried a few of their craft beer selections. The hostess and bar staff were very friendly and attentive.

I hate to say it but I would give zero stars to this place if I could. I ordered the Veggie Wrap and found mold (green and fuzzy mold) on the tortilla after eating half the wrap! I panicked for fear of getting sick in the middle of our vacation! We sent back the wrap and the manager came over to apologize. He offered me a glass of wine, but after the mold experience I did not want anything else. We asked for the check and manager did not take care of anything! I had a Bloody Mary that (in my opinion) should have not had to pay for. Getting an order wrong is one thing, mold is a whole different and serious issue! To still be presented with a $30 bill was just wrong. Poor management and we were the only 2 people in the entire restaurant! WARNING: check for mold before you indulge! But the View is breathtaking! So maybe go for cocktails! :)

Summary: fabulous on all fronts. Great service, food, atmosphere. Excellent value for the price. Best meal on the island. My friend and I were looking for a great meal and wandered into here. We made a meal of small plates- so expertly prepared and lovely to eat. The pork empanadas were our favorites... Though the goat cheese and sataki were delicious. Our server was attentive and made great suggestions. All and all- a lovely meal to kick off a great weekend in the keys.

Definitely as good as it gets. Impeccable service, phenomenal views, and food that is original, and off the charts! This is a must stop and I recommend a sunset dinner here. Excellent! The chocolate covered cherry for dessert, and the lobster mac both the bomb!

We had reservations at 6:15 PM. We were seated outside overlooking the ocean. It was the right time just to view the sunset. Wow we were just taken back by the beauty. For drinks I had a Mojito and my husband had some cocktail that I forgot the name of it was delicious. The cocktails drinks were actually look little bit water down the fugitive. We like it strong like bill. For appetizers we have the lobster mac & cheese and the scallops. As an entrée we had the braised beef. ALL DELICIOUS.

Wow factor definitely! We watched the sunset from the outdoor deck and it was spectacular. We ordered the shrimp small plate, lobster appetizer and split the grouper. It was delicious and the perfect amount of food for two people. The rose tattoo martini was wonderful so I had two of them. My husband ordered the agave margarita and it was good too. There was live music playing outside which we enjoyed while watching the sunset. We will come back and hope to order the creme brûlée, lave cake or key lime pie. The host stopped by after we finished our meal to make sure we enjoyed it. He also gave us some tips about museums to visit and a sunset cruise called Danger to go on. The waiter was friendly, attentive and he gave excellent recommendations.

The food was exceptional, drinks were great! I had the filet and I would positively say that it was the best meal I've ever had! The chef even came to our table to thank us for coming. Joe, the manager was incredibly hospitable! This was by far the best experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Hot Tin Roof.

Location is great, but the service and cuisine was way below par. Not impressed. Overpriced

Amazing brunch! Give me a create your own Bloody Mary bar and Im hooked! Come full though. Its pricey but well worth if if your hungry. The Oysters were delish and my kids loved the desserts. We would definitely go back again!!

I have been here twice now for dinner. The staff is incredibly accommodating. The view and the food are incredible. If you can plan dinner around 730-8 that is when to go to enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Awesome dinner - staying at the resort and heard awesome remarks. Had grouper of course and was not disappointed at all. Do not miss out on the lobster mac and cheese either as a side. Highly recommend it.

People go there for the sunset - and if you get to sit outside, it's really nice. The food was good, but the services wasn't really that great. My mom waited 20min for a glass of wine. And we couldn't find our server for a while. I don't know if this place is on my list of restaurants to return to if I'm ever in Key West again.

For what we spent, it was just average. Server was slow to get to us initially and forgot to order our appetizer. Comped us two glasses of champagne, which was nice, but our food went under a heat lamp while the appetizer was made and consumed. Therefore my fish was dry and lacking much flavor. Wife's scallop risotto was banging and the lobster mac and cheese was bland. Won't be coming back.

  • Stephanie S.

The food here was delicious, definetly the best meal we had on the island (although pretty pricey especially for the smaller portion size). We had the argula salad which had a great cheese on top and a simple but perfect lemon vinegarette. For the main course I had the scallop risotto (only had 4 scallops) and it was cooked perfectly, you could tell the scallops were fresh. My boyfriend had the snapper and it was also cooked perfectly although I didn't like that it was served with the skin on it. Our server was not very friendly, he actually made us feel uncomfortable and we had to wait almost a half hour after our meal before he brought the check which is why I can't give a 5 star review.

  • The B.

Matt was out server he was awesome. The manager himself came to our table to make sure things were great, that makes me feel special :) I like feeling important. Everything was exceptionally good except for the ceviche. Matt was very gracious and allowed us to save that for the treats which is also awesome. Great View, great drinks great food and great view ...

  • Chris X M.

We like, but don't love this place. The LOCATION and VIEWS are superb. And the food is very good. Where we got mixed up was by having to wait a long time for our dinner table. We started at a high bar table and waited for a real dinner table--which took a rather long time. After eating appetizers and drinking near the bar for a long time--the meal was a bit of a let down. That said, this is one of the most unique spots in Key West. I just hope you don't have a 1 hour wait.

Great food, excellent service and the view is awesome. Patti & Diana the bartender are exceptional at their jobs!

The BEST dining, atmosphere, and service in the Keys. All with a beautiful sunset view! I'd call ahead and reserve a table on the railing outside for the perfect view. The first time my family and I dined here, we were just walking around and decided to walk on in. Our hair was still wet and dressed super casual. We were slightly embarrassed to discover this was a VERY nice restaurant after being seated. But we still had the BEST service and tops one of the best dining experiences ever. Everything is perfect here. Anything you order is going to be amazing!

  • Stephanie T.

We dined here for our final breakfast before leaving Key West. The food was delightful. I had the crab cake eggs benedict, which was wonderful (eggs were overdone, but did not ruin the overall experience). The presentation was great and the atmosphere of the restaurant was pretty classy, although (at least for breakfast), no dress code was enforced :). The views of the gulf side were exceptional and we were seated right away. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Best service I had at this restaurant. we were a party of 8 and had a birthday. The food was amazing 5 starts.. We had birthday cakes and it was on the restaurant.. Very thoughtful from such a good business.

Excellent food, although expensive (even for Key West). Make a reservation for an outdoor table near the railing (your concierge can help secure a prime spot). You might have to go early to make sure you're there for sunset but you can't beat the view! We were there at 5:30 in early February, which was perfect for enjoying the full sunset experience. We ordered several small plates and one large plate to share. The Carmelized Grouper (which the server gladly split for us) was the star! The fish was perfectly seared and the chorizo-based sauce was to-die-for. I found myself dipping our Key West Pink Shrimp, the sourdough bread and everything else into that sauce! The portion was perfect for sharing and would have been too much for just one (unless we skipped everything else). The Ceviche of the night was also Grouper in a tart lime sauce with chunks of avocado, cilantro and jalapeno - perfectly prepared and delcious. The Tuna Tostadas were tasty but nothing special. The Pink Key West shirmp had little flavor but were firm and a perfect vehicle for the sauce that came with the Carmelized Grouper.

It's hidden behind the Ocean View Resort, but it's gorgeous. If you go in the summer and it's not quite sunset...be warned that it's HOT, but comes with phenomenal views. The food is amazing. And very large portions. Also, please get the key lime pie...full or not. It's the best key lime pie I've ever had.

    (5)
  • Vicenzo P.

Loved the food. I had the soup of the day, onion rings, and yellowtail tuna (which I got to heat up myself) and then for dessert we actually got a free key lime pie since it was my mom's birthday. Great restaurant.

  • Alex S.

Great food, wine list, staff and outdoor viewing for daily sunsets. Seafood dishes were amazing. Entire staff were over the top ok Customer Experience. It will continue to be a must stop when in the area.

We wanted to finish our vacation on a high note with a great dinner at this restaurant. The service was phenomenal and we loved the appetizers as well. I wish the portions were little bigger. The scallops were cooked to the right temperature and the half Oysters were fresh out of the sea. Hot Tin Tin cocktail was fantastic. I was very excited for the paella when they served it. The appetizers had set a very high standards and we were looking forward our entrees. The paella fell short in terms of flavor and the seafood was completely overcooked and the lobster and shrimp were rubbery. Later we ordered key lime pie and it was not bad. I would definitely go back there for drinks and oysters.

  • Thomas B.

Very good food and good selection. Inside or out it a good place to go. Kinda pricey. Good flavor and not a bad wait time for it either.

  • Brian S.

Nice place. Great location. The hostess wasn't impressed when we arrived early and sat us at the bar until a table was ready...even though I saw a dozen free tables. Wait staff was very good. Food was a tad pricey but good. I recommend the scallops. Not over cooked and fresh. Key lime pie was nice.

  • Rob S.

Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Duval St. Be sure to make a reservation and hit up the Sunset Pier to see the sunset and listen to live music before hand. Service is very attentive and the food was wonderful. We definitely recommend the ceviche as an app and the red snapper or scallops for dinner. The risotto that comes with the scallops is wonderful. Be sure to try one of their speciality cocktails.

  • Leighton L.

The place has a nice setting to watch the sunset and relax. The oysters barely had any meat in them or flavor. I was bummed. The ceviches were so heavy in sauce it made me a little sick. They weren't a typical fresh ceviche that had yummy veggies and mango etc.

Everything Good that was said about the Hot Tin Roof is True and then some! Went for family celebration and came out with an experience that defined our entire trip to Key West! Long story short, Mr. Joseph Lyles (Manager) was able to take care of all our needs during our dinner there. When I reached out to him afterwards regarding the music being played (Mr. Robert Albury: Key West Soul Man), Mr. Lyles went above and beyond with our request. I was grateful to him then when I was there and even more so after our return home. Thank you, Mr. Lyles, for making the Hot Tin Roof such an exceptional experience for us!

  • L W.

Excellent food, and the atmosphere of dining on the deck is very nice. Staff was very attentive. The only thing that's a little disconcerting is that their menus have built in backlights and they're pretty blinding if your eyes have adjusted to the sunset ambience. If you have the concierge at your hotel make the reservation for you, he/she can probably give you drink coupons worth $12/person. Always nice to save a little $...

I am not one to write reviews often but this restaurant was by far the biggest let down of our wonderful anniversary trip to Key West. The service was decent but the wait time for drinks and for our entrees were absurd. I was going to order the port shank entree and even the waiter said, "You don't want that, it is too salty". OK, so I went with the chicken... Who can mess up chicken? Well, Hot Tin Roof pulled it off. My wife had a fish filet and it was sub-par.... by far the worst seafood we had all weekend. At the end of our meal we thought we'd order one more round of drinks. 30-45 minute wait (Not exaggerating). My wife's wine was half warm and I received the worst mojito of my life. Aside from the gorgeous view, I could not have been more disappointed. The waiter did comp our last round of drinks which was nice. The only positive worth mentioning is the lobster mac and cheese was delicious. With all of the choices of restaurants in Key West, I would strongly suggest skipping this one.....

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary here, her pick based on yelp. Excellent pick. Our server Kerry was wonderful, very at tentative but not overbearing. The food was perfectly prepared. We had the mixed grill, ( grouper, beef tenderloin, key shrimp, lobster, And truffle potatoes). The best dish however was the jalapeño cheese soup my wife had as an appetizer. This is a definite stop when we go back to the keys

Delish! I ordered the burrata and tomatoes and added chicken. Steve got calamari, which I normally don't like but even that was good. The whole menu looked like something I'd be interested in for dinner too. As with most places down here, it took a while to get the server to bring the check, but he comped my glass of prosecco since I mentioned we were on our honeymoon. Would definitely go back!

This restaurant is connected to hotel and the marina but has great style and excellent service. You can tell they work hard at making every sip and every bite something interesting and special. I especially enjoyed the hand crafted cocktails. Back lit menus were fun and helpful and the ahi tuna was out of this world.

Lovely restaurant, excellent service, good food, and ambiance. This is what I would expect from a "key west" restaurant, given this was our first visit to the keys. It was right above the sunset peer, making the views absolutely amazing. The staff was great, too. From the moment we showed up they bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable. They were very willing to take as many pictures as we wanted to capture the memory. We chose to do tapas, which came out very rapidly. I had never had "sataki" before- it was rather entertaining to make and eat. The wine list was adequate though I chose to enjoy the signature mojito. Overall this experience was a perfect "special meal" for our first visit to the keys.

  • Nicole S.

More of an upscale laid back Key West vibe. Service was attentive and interactive without being overbearing or pushy. Food was perfectly prepared. I had the scallop risotto. The flavors were perfectly balanced. My husband had one of the specials which he also enjoyed. We sat on the balcony which gave us an opportunity to overlook the water and enjoy the serene area. Would definitely recommend reservations.

  • Lauren G.

When you go to the restaurant you must sit near the railing and get there before the sun goes down! The view is just breathtaking. The food is very good. Not the absolute best, but satisfying. A bit on on the pricey side, but eating surrounded by the beautiful sunset is priceless! Oleg our waiter was very professional and very nice. Definitely check this place out!

  • Erin C.

Nice atmosphere - really bad food. I'm very surprised there are so many good reviews. This would probably be a good cocktail & appetizer spot for the view but with so many good restaurants in Key West, do not go here for dinner. Both fish dishes we ordered were super cold....and cold fish is gross but for $30, it's even worse! The restaurant was not busy so I'm not sure why our dinners came out so cold. The table next to us also had cold fish for dinner. The manager was extremely nice but only offered us a coupon for free drinks and dessert at our next visit...which will not be useful since we won't be back. The good things: really nice server, the tomato salad was very good and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

I chose to take my wife here for the first night of our anniversary getaway and it was the perfect choice. While I gave this restaurant 5-stars, something slightly perturbed me and Yelpers may want to read a little more. The service was attentive and excellent. The filet was great, as was the shrimp risotto. The ratatouille was so much better than anticipated. The view was exquisite. What slightly surprised me (in a negative way) was the manager that came to check on how our meal was at the end. I explained how over the top it was, and how pleased my wife and I were with our meals and the view. He said, "Well please go to TripAdvisor and leave us a review." I stated that I use Yelp so he could rest assured I'd leave him a Yelp review." to which he rather seriously and sternly stated, "As I said, TripAdvisor is preferred." If you're going to get a positive review of your business, why insert a strong suggestion for a different review site? Everything else was excellent. I will certainly go there again during our next trip to Key West. It's my second favorite restaurant on the island. Just know that I prefer to Yelp and don't ask your patrons to change their own reviewing habits to accommodate your business.

Excellent experience at this restaurant today. We had a reservation for a 9-person party which was originally set for 1pm, but our party got stuck in traffic and we had trouble parking which made us have to move the reservation to 2pm. Because of even more delays, we showed up 30 minutes later than that. The restaurant, however, was extremely accommodating. They had been keeping our table in a lovely space on the outside balcony. On top of that, we showed up 5 minutes before the kitchen was closing (which is understandable), and they were still very welcoming and patient with us. As a result, we immediately ordered most of the items off of the menu while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. Again, they were very patient and calm despite the fact that we ordered so much and that the kitchen was getting ready to close. We also had the whole restaurant to ourselves, which was amazing, and the service remained consistent. Once everyone arrived, the drinks and food came in a very timely fashion. We shared everything family style because of the way we had to order; I tasted every single dish - everything was delicious. The burrata dish, the fries, the veggie wrap, and the steak in particular were exceptional. We enjoyed the drinks as well. The entrees were so good that we were finished with the food very quickly. The table was cleared, and since it was my father's birthday dinner, they brought out slices of key lime pie, one of which had a candle on it. We sang happy birthday and devoured the pie, which was also very yummy. Our waitress was very nice and understanding the entire time; she also helped us construct the birthday surprise. Though this restaurant is on the pricier side, I assure you it is well worth it (especially for larger parties!). Delicious food, solid service, and an amazing seaside setting!

Lovely sunset view, decent food, nice ambience. Found this restaurant to be quite elegant in the midst of the bustling Mallory Square. The sunset views off the outdoor seating was spectacular. Our meals were average cuisine- had the lobster stuffed crab, chilled crab avocado soup, caprese salad, truffle polenta fries. Servings for both the caprese salad and truffle polenta fries were quite small. Crab stuffing was somewhat dry. Truffle polenta fries were very oily/fried tasting (although this was to be expected given they were fries). Wine was served incorrectly. Service was nice, they definitely tried their best. Overall- good experience. I would probably return to try other items.

Eh. Came here with my girlfriends on our annual "spring break" trip. Now, we are a large group and all look young but we aren't college students (not even close!) A general disdain for spring breakers was detected in the rather "iffy" service. We had a lovely table outside and it was cute. Some friends had risotto (which was very bland) and others had some calamari (very small plates) and mac-n-cheese (ok) and I had the duck empanadas (good, not great) and mozzarella/tomato salad (can't really go too wrong here.) For the prices, the food was unremarkable. Great location though. Maybe we went on a bad night?

This was our first time in Key West and we were looking for a nice dinner. After reading some of the other reviews, I avoided certain things on the menu and wasn't expecting much from the food. But, we had a fantastic dinner all around. Ceviche - Great. The mahi mahi was done perfectly in just the right amount of lime. Empanadas - Good, but I could tell they came from a freezer somewhere. Steak, Lobster, and Shrimp Platter for two - Great. Steaks were on par with the meat you find in Chicago steakhouses. They were cooked perfectly and so was the lobster. I happen to like a little hint of char taste on the edge of my medium steak, but I think other reviewers didn't like that. Key Lime Pie - The best I've had. It had a cheesecake consistency, and I would HIGHLY recommend it if you go for that sort of thing. Service - Chris was our server and he was such a joy to talk to. He helped us decide what to order and then proceeded to make the rest of the evening comfortable for us. He was such a nice guy to talk to. This restaurant was such a nice surprise for us and I should note that the atmosphere was elegant and cozy at the same time in the outdoor seating.

Amazing Sunday Brunch! Came here on 12/14/14 to take a friend for brunch for his birthday. Josh was our server and he was great! All the food was top notch and delicious! We our locals and we will be returning quite frequently for this delicious brunch and amazing service.

Very romantic, if you get a seat outdoors facing the water. The live music, from the pier below ends at 9pm. Food is delicious and waiters are super friendly.

We loved this place. We had booked a table and asked to be seated outside but wanted to wait for a better location once we got there. Janet, the hostess, was terrific. She treated us to a round of drinks on the outside deck so we could toast the sunset. We were treated to a really nice outside table in a large semi-enclosed space. The food and staff were terrific. We will definitely be back.

I cant imagine a more perfect spot to watch the sunset in Key West while eating dinner. Situated atop the Ocean Key Resort, this is definitely fine dining. We requested a seat outside overlooking the water for our anniversary and we weren't disappointed. There are fantastic views of Mallory Square and the water where we watched sail boats pass by as the sun set. The food and wine is delicious. We ate a la carte and thought the ratatouille and empanadas were excellent. The back lit menus were a nice touch. I highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner or simply a place to eat with a great view.

The view is amazing. The service is impeccable. Breakfast is excellent. We ate here twice for breakfast but only once for dinner. I had the grilled egg whites once and the steel cut oatmeal the second. Both were delicious and fresh. Dinner, however, was underperforming. I had the yellowtail snapper which was, at best, bland. A friend had a dish with broccoli that he thought tasted like it was rotten. The service, again, was incredible. Everyone was polite and available. The manager came to check on us twice. As we were leaving, he asked how everything was. We said "the service was excellent" but he quickly followed up with "how was the food?" When we told him about the letdowns, he quickly offered two comp dinners without being asked. Again, great people. They just need to tweak the dinners...

Hot Tin Roof was our last culinary stop on our vacation and we chose it over Latitudes to see the sunset. The hostess was odd but our server was lovely. We ordered drinks and I can say, my margarita was the star of my meal. You have to get the Cabo Wabo marg...and only have one or you'll have trouble getting back to your hotel. Trust me. We started with the black truffle soup which was excellent and opted for a dish for two with twin lobster tails, pink shrimp, and a side of the truffle potatoes. Nothing in the main course wowed me. For $250, I wish our entree was better, but the sunset views (sans the people screaming in the pool below) were excellent. I would go back for drinks only.

What a fantastic restaurant! The food, views and ambience all outstanding! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered (drinks, small plates, dessert) and all at the recommendation of our WONDERFUL server, Ellie!! She was not only on point with her service and food descriptions, but was so pleasant and we had an excellent time with her waiting on us. Thank you Ellie and Hot Tin Roof!

We went here for our one 'fancier night out' while on our honeymoon. The service was great, the food was good (portions could've been better) and the atmosphere was nice on the deck. Dessert was really good, would probably go back to have it again and watch the sun set.

This is a great place for breakfast without the price. My boyfriend had the lobster benedict, and I had the egg omelette with fruit. I like a bit of cheese in my eggs, which my omelette did not come with, and asked for fetta. The waitress granted my request and didn't charge me for the cheese. A very nice gesture indeed. The lobster benedict was fantastic. Most places use fake hollandaise sauce; this was the real deal!

After asking the locals where can we get a great meal & a fantastic view of a KW sunset, Hot Tin Roof was a unanimous decision. Located right on the water the views are breath taking. Even if you try to make a reservation requesting a table with a great view of the sunset, they still cannot accommodate all the requests...luckily we were close enough. The hostess was a little snobby when we were being seated. The server was the savior. Overly friendly, welcoming, helpful and attentive. We decided on doing small plates for the meal: Chorizo -- fantastic! Mussels - good...nothing earth shattering but worth a try Calamari - not impressionable but good. Cook yourself Mahi - interesting concept. Great ingredients and melt in your mouth Mahi. Mac & Cheese - yes, it was fantastic. Well worth ordering it even though it's only M&C. Cerviche w/Mahi - Delicious...Mahi was, as mentioned before, melt in your mouth. Drinks: Very expensive but potent. Dessert : It's KW so we had to try the Key Lime Pie...average. It's the traditional version. Their food prices are expensive but it's worth the money you spend and the terrific view of the sunset. ENJOY!

Reservations are a must! This is my husbands favorite restaurant in Key West. He ordered the filet and was cooked perfect. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. I had the ceviche and loved the presentation and flavor.

If you are lucky enough to get Oleg as your waiter, it will be a wonderful meal. He was so helpful with our meal choices as well as attentive to any and all of our needs. Thank you Oleg! Awesome: Service, Location, View, Shrimp Cocktail, the mac and cheese appetizer, pink key west shrimp, the scallops, Key lime Pie, the fact that tey serve Kim Crawford Sauv Blanc, and of course Oleg. Not so much: The pasta that accompanied the scallop entree, or the entree my friend ordered with asparagus. Was just so so . Cool fact: The menus light up to make them look like kindles. Kinda cool

This is an odd place, and thus the odd review. Certain aspects- location, ambiance, the tomato salad, and the front-end manager- deserve five stars, but an extra-surly hostess and a particularly unappetizing-looking entree bump things down a few notches. Go for the views, stay for dessert, and you probably won't be disappointed. But avoid the pork shank...

Scallops Risotto was awesome. Really enjoyed the view as the entire staff was great! Make sure you go before sunset to get the full effect!

Had a lovely dinner there on Saturday night. We sat outdoors and enjoyed wine and appetizers as we watched the gorgeous sunset over the pier. The scallop risotto was delicious and Ellie, our server, was outstanding.

Gracious staff, helped us to enjoy the picture ops, and a lovely romantic evening. Top quality Spanish fare, presented with a flair. The view, of course, was a romantic sun set. Not overly pricy, a nice addition to a lovely evening.

The atmosphere was lovely, old world style with quaint dim lighting. The hostess was friendly and prompt, leading us to our table without a moment of waiting. The weak at heart may want to brace themselves for the lack of clothing exhibited by the hostess, which was seemingly out of place in this upperscale eatery. We ordered several different glasses of wine, and even the sweetest of our selection was extraordinarily dry. The food was nicely presented, we selected the antipasto platter, which was bland and uninspiring. Our entree selection was the chef special of filet mignon for two, accompanied with lobter tail. The filet were nearly burnt on the bottom, and again bland. Our desert selection was the cherry chocolate cake, which was expertly done and delicious. The wait staff were kind and attentive. I should also add that the restroom facilities were squeaky clean. Overall, the food was decent, but nothing worth a second trip.

This was our dinner spot for our first night in Key West! There were 5 of us - Cousins Trip! What a GREAT choice! We made reservations so we could see the sunset. It wasn't the BEST spot for a sunset (Latitude's holds that title) - but it was a wonderful spot! The view was great. It is attached to a hotel. There is also a bar/dock adjacent to it that is a great spot for a cocktail and some live music. The food was wonderful. We had a mix of seafood and steak between all of us. Loved every dish. We would eat here again!

Great place to see the sunset, view not blocked by the docked cruise ship(s). You are elevated so pier patrons will not block your view either. Great calamari with their special red pepper dipping sauce. Fish was prepared perfectly and presented great. Would definitively go back again, great wine list recommended restaurant for the wine-o!

Oh. My. God. Impeccable, from the gorgeously designed drink menu, down to the actual menu, which is backlight, a nice touch in the candlelit room. Our ceviche was made to order. Often, I cannot get it without certain ingredients, proving the dish premade. Not so at Hot Tin Roof. Lobster cocktail was fresh and delicious as well. For dinner, we selected an assortment of small dishes, such as lobster mac and cheese (the best I've had), and mussels, which my mate deemed superb. We wish we had room for dessert because they looked divine as well.

Had breakfast here one morning during our week long stay at the hotel (Ocean Key Resort) Our breakfast was good, atmosphere and view from the patio was great, but the service was lacking for a restaurant if this caliber. Our server was not too sure if what he was serving and didn't have much personality. Overall our experience was just "OK", but my biggest complaint was how they handled the table next to us. They were a family of 4, and one if them knocked over their water. Several servers & bussers walked by them but not 1 person came over to help them clean up their obvious mess. The father had to go over and ask for a towel to clean up. They just handed him a towel and didn't help him at all! Then when their breakfasts arrived they had to ask for new napkins to replace the ones they used to initially clean up. I was just shocked to see such poor customer service in such a nice restaurant.

My boyfriend made reservations on our last night. We had the tuna tostada's.. $15 for 3 bite sized portions, okay they were decent but small. The raw oysters were good. I ordered the snapper and my boyfriend ordered the paella. I had sangria and he had wine. Our food came and I needed another drink. After barely tasting our food our waiter Chris dashed by to see how everything was. I didn't even get a chance to ask for another drink. The person that brought our food was supposed to bring an extra dish for the shells which never came. After a few bites I decided my fish was dry and flavorless and needed some lemon or salt and pepper. We finally flagged down a server to bring us salt and pepper. The restaurant was completely empty, there were a few tables on the balcony but every server that walked by made a point to look the other way and speed by. Finally our server came back and we asked for a check with our plates still full. I was so close to throwing my empty glass on the floor because I wanted another drink and couldn't get one if I begged. Wish we would have taken a friend's recommendation to go across town.

There was nothing wrong with this place. We made 5:15pm reservations on a Saturday during MLK long weekend and got the best table for watching the sunset. Our server, Oleg, was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Every piece of food was scrumptious esp the lobster cocktail that was like nothing I've ever had before. Portions were generous considering other places that charge the same prices. And their menus have backlights on the pages so you can see at night instead of using candle light and squinting to read the items. Atmosphere, drinks, food and service were all terrific.

Overall, it was a good experience. We went there because it was recommended to have a great view of the sunset. The view was fantastic. There were two parts to the restaurant: the dock down below and the nicer restaurant above. The dock was more of a bar-ish scene. It had small colorful tables and chairs with live music in the background. It seemed like the best place to grab a drink and watch the sunset. The restaurant above was very nice. I believe it was connected to a hotel above that. The clothing attire seemed very casual. From the restaurant's deck outside, there is an amazing view of the sunset from your table. Inside the dinning room, you could not see the full sunset. After the sunset, the lights would get dimmer. This set a very elegant mood to it. The menus had back lights, so it was easy to read the menu. The food overall was good. The food seemed a bit pricy, but it was overall fine. This does not seem like a very kid friendly place to eat. On the main menu, there were no simple, kid friendly meals. There may have been a separate kids menu. The staff was very helpful and nice. A great place to eat and watch the sunset.

Location = A Value for Money = F Service = Superficial Snooty Places like this tend to disgust me. I live in a city where I can and have eaten high quality food without breaking the bank. So asking me to pay $9 for ONE scallop is totally ridiculous, and wasn't any better than restaurants where I paid the same amount and got three. I really don't want a waitstaff who wants to change out my silverware and who act like they are willing to wipe my ass in the bathroom. Service was good, and if you like that thing, great. But, it just seemed so stuck up. Key Lime pie was awesome, I will say, and actually a reasonable price. Garlic mashed potatoes were SALTY. I was parched during the night and when I woke up. Mac and cheese not so good either. Seemed bland and again, not worth the price. Salads on the menu were TINY. I paid fucking $11 for three pieces of leaf lettuce. We honestly had a much better time at Red Fish, Blue Fish nearby, and got a fresh and excellent grilled red snapper with simply steamed broccoli and rice...portions so big we had leftovers...and only paid $24 per entree. And my $4 side salad there was large enough to share and had WAY more produce. Obviously, I'm not peeved at all. If you want to blow money and sit over the ocean, go ahead. The bar on the dock below seemed like it would be a better alternative. Or some of the more laid-back restaurants with fresh food without the prices.

Hot Tin Roof is the best restaurant I've ever been to! They have outdoor seating overlooking the ocean with transparent windbreaks installed. The fresh ocean breeze comes in around the sides of the windbreaks and you can see people tanning below you, cruise ships, caravels, and all the sights of the ocean, but when the high winds come, you and your food are protected from them. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive to us. They asked about us and where we were from, brought us free mimosas, and took our picture for us several times. The food was delicious. We ordered the fish tacos and the catch of the day sandwich (I don't remember the exact name) and split both. The fish was fresh, flaky, and flavorful. The side salad had cherry tomatoes, spring mix, and homemade bleu cheese dressing - a huge upgrade from the usual pittance of iceberg lettuce that you get at most restaurants. All the ingredients were fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The prices were really reasonable for a restaurant with such a wonderful environment, service, and food - the entrees were between $10-$17. Don't leave the Keys without eating at the Hot Tin Roof! It's really something special!

Wanted to give this place five stars but service was wanting. Took a while to get drinks and too much lag time between courses. Ordered assorted small plates. All fabulous! Pork chicharones, shrimp, pork empanadas. Oysters on half shell amazing! Super fresh and tasty. Drinks great. Hemingway, rose tatoo, and other grapefruit cocktail. Beautiful water front location. A great romantic place!

Just know what you're getting into here. It's basically a tourist trap but the thing is the food is actually quite good despite being overpriced. Service was excellent, waitress was very attentive as was the support staff. Specialty drinks were excellent and packed a punch, wines were very good too. Came away after it feeling like we got fleeced a little, there are better values within five minutes walking distance. Location hard to beat though.

Foodies from SF. Thoroughly impressed with fresh seafood selections, live music at and after sunset, and impeccable service ( our waiter ran down to grab my sunglasses that fell down a level) , even though the trend we've noticed is a gratuity factored in as part of the bill ( throughout our FL trip.,.seems customary....) we loved this place and are going back tonight for more deliciousities.... Ocean key s the place to be in key west !!!

My wife and I went here to celebrate our anniversary while on vacation in Key West. Pros: 1. Setting - if you request outdoor seating, you get a view of the ocean and a beautiful sunset (depending on what time you eat). 2. Service - top notch. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. The manager had been informed it was our anniversary and had two complimentary glasses of champagne waiting for us. 3. Menu - It's set up so you can either eat "tapas" style off the small menu or enjoy entrees. Cons: 1. Food - I thought the food was average. My wife and I split the snapper entree and I thought the fish was a bit dry and the asparagus left a lot to be desired. 2. Atmosphere - It was an odd atmosphere. You had some people dressed what I call "beach formal" i.e., Polo shirts, nice shorts, etc. and you had some people who were presumably staying at the resort (Ocean Key) dressed in their bathing suits, with cover-ups on. Not a big issue, but gave it kind of a weird vibe. All in all, I think it's great for the sunset and ocean view, but I think you can do better in terms of food.

Wow really good. Service was bit slow and our table wobble a bit outdoors. It was expensive but well worth it. If you have a special occasion this is the place to go. The high rating is the food & sunset awesome!!! I had the best chicken in a real long time soft, tender and tasty. Even the $22 burger is one of the best burgers I tasted in a real long time. I will be sure to visit the tin roof again when I return to Key West.

Love this place. Great for watching sunset. We sat at the bar last night & had a great time with Jack our bartender. Friendly & very professional. Ate at the bar & had wonderful salads & I had the excellent lobster Mac & cheese & my husband the pork empanadas. Hot Tin Roof is becoming one of our favorite places in KW.

Beautiful view from the outside porch. Food was delicious. Service was very attentive. My only complaint was they wine list seemed a tad high priced. Although, they did cut the price of the champagne we ordered when I pointed out the list and price was for the higher valued yellow label, and not the orange label they served. I would definitely return for a special occasion or romantic get-away any time.

My wife and I had breakfast here twice during our stay in the Ocean Key Resort. We were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. We had the Smoked Salmon Omelet, Three Ham & Cheese Omelet and the Noble Benedict. My personal favorite was the Noble Benedict. That key lime hollandaise sauce is mmm mmm good. For breakfast it's a bit pricey but we had breakfast included in our package so it wasn't a concern for us. Very friendly staff. It was nice of the manager to stop by and see how we were doing. Outdoor seating provides a beautiful view of the ocean. It was calming to have breakfast and watch the birds fly by and boats zoom past the pier.

Amazing experience! From the moment we arrived for our reservation until it was time to go, we loved every minute. The host was great, friendly and truly glad to see us. We had made reservations through our hotel concierge. She requested a table on the patio and I'm so glad we did that, we had an amazing view of the sunset. The service was impeccable. I was really shocked when our waiter was telling us the specials for the night, the man was fabulous. He knew each dish down to every last detail of preparation, rubs, sauces and the best method of cooking for that particular dish. We were drooling all over ourselves just listening to his descriptions. Their house special drink is the Hot Tin Tini, it was recommended by our concierge and I must say, you have to have one. They ferment the pineapple in the vodka and it was spectacular. The interior of the restaurant is very warm and inviting with dark woods, if the weather is crummy, inside is great, but nothing beats the patio with the incredible view. Our best friends were with us and one of them had the Yellowfin Tuna and she raved about the dish. Mr. B and I had the risotto dish, it was cooked perfectly which isn't always easy with risotto. The other person in our party had the baked lobster special with a filet, it was also cooked perfectly and the lobster was delicate and delicious. I will say we will definitely be back. I have no recommendations for them it was the perfect dinner for our last night in town.

Great sunset view. Paco & Lola Albariño by the glass. Top 3 shrimp cocktail I have ever eaten. My wife and I split the Shrimp and Risotto entree. Incredible. She was still talking about it 24 hours later. Overall, a solid evening at The Hot Tin Roof.

finding the restaurant was very challenging. We hooked up with another party who was having the same problem. it happened to be a very windy evening which made the situation more frustrating. I was disappointed with my meal. My husband had the short ribs which tasted dry and my grouper was overcooked. Expensive for the quality.

The most beautiful setting for a late breakfast imaginable: open air, overlooking aquarmarine water, soft breezes, perfect temps. The food is good. The service, particularly if you get Hasan (or Hasson) is excellent. He offered to make my omelette however I wanted, so I added an ingredient to one on the menu, and the kitchen handled it well. The fried potatoes alongside most of the breakfast/brunch items were interestingly crispy (something like deep-fried hashbrowns made from torn-apart chunks of new redskin potatoes--with good oil used for the frying.) My companions had TeaForte teas, which were served in lovely glass pots and seemed pleasing to the drinkers. I can't say all the food is excellent, though it seemed perfectly fine. I can say there is probably no better place to eat on a warm sunny morning in February in Key West.

This restaurant was divine! We sat outside where the seating overlooked the setting sun. It was beautiful. We started the night with a Hot Tin Tini which was a pineapple vodka infused martini. It was delicious and I don't even like martinis. For starters, my friends had four oysters on the half shell and really enjoyed those. They also got the melted goat cheese dip and polenta fries which were also tasty. For the main course, I ordered the scallop picatta and a side of the crab mac-and-cheese. My dinner was amazing- the scallops were huge, juicy, and fresh; the Mac-and-cheese was gooey and melty. This was the best dinner I've had in the Keys. (my friends got the short ribs and shrimp risotto and all loved their dishes as well). Keep in mind the portions are huge! To top it all off, the staff was attentive, knowledgable about their menu, and friendly.

You MUST go to this restaurant. MUST. I was skeptical when I first learned that it was in a hotel, especially when I saw the Pier bar/restaurant they had downstairs because it was nothing like the upscale restaurant above. This place is amazing. I can't say enough about the fresh food, the service, and the amazing key lime pie (which I consider to be the best I tried while I was in Key West). The view is FANTASTIC and you must go before sunset to enjoy it. I hardly give 5 star ratings, but I was very pleased with this place.

Do not, i repeat do not waste your time and money going to the hot tin roof restaurant. I don't know how they got those ratings but i suspect some of them are plants. I took my girlfriends there for a bachelorette dinner on 10/06/12 and what a disappointment and let down. Ridiculously over priced food i wouldn't even eat for free; and no i am not a food snob. I will usually eat anything. The service was horrible!!! We had to wait over an hour to get an appetizer. And how can someone mess up mashed potatoes. They must have known their food was horrible because we couldn't even find a waiter to get our tab, one of my friends had to literally get up from the table to find one so we could pay. The worst restaurant experience i have ever had! Days later i was still apologizing to my friends because i was so embarrassed. The view is not worth it, it's key west you can find views anywhere in key west.

Exceptionally poor guest service. We called ahead of time and arrived with a reservation to a half full dining room. The greeter (John) said hello, welcome to Hot Tin Roof, would you excuse me for a moment? and disappeared to seat a duo of middle-aged ladies on the porch. We waited a full five minutes until he re-appeared to greet us. He saw that we had a reservation (again, with half of the tables left empty) and offered to seat us within five minutes. He didn't offer us a seat anywhere, so my boyfriend asked if we could take a seat outside. John said sure. We sat outside. After we'd waited for about ten minutes, I went into the bar to get a drink. There were two bartenders behind the bar, Jack and someone whose name I didn't catch. I got the impression Guy #2 was in training, because Jack was patiently (and at great length) explaining how to serve a drink with chocolate and whipped cream. Both smiled and nodded at me as I approached, then returned to the consuming topic of mixing a drink. After I'd waited four minutes I just said, "Could I get a coke, please?" and the bartenders turned around and reluctantly served me. Jack offered to carry my drinks out to the balcony where we were sitting, then walked off somewhere and didn't come back. I tipped them anyway (couldn't help it, used to be a server myself) and carried the drinks out to the balcony myself. Thirty minutes later, we were still sitting there. John hadn't seated us, and hadn't come out to update us as to the status of our reservation. I walked in and told John that we had been waiting for 30 minutes, and he'd promised we'd be seated in five, and there were loads of empty tables. He said, "Uh-huh." I said that we were just going to leave since they couldn't find us a table. He said, "Uh huh." I said, I think this is really inappropriate, if you can't seat us within the promised time frame you should have the courtesy to inform us of this. I consider this very poor service, and he said, "You're right." Then stared at me. Weirdest experience of my life. And possibly the rudest. All three of the employees that I interacted with at Hot Tin Roof were un-apologetically rude. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to anyone. Avoid like the plague, service like this should not be rewarded.

Really brings together all the elements of a great restauraunt and wonderful dining experience. I can think of no better place to watch the sunset than to be seated on their outdoor balcony overlooking the bustle of mallory square and the ocean. They have high class service, and well prepared meals. My pallea was excelent.

The view is nice but the food was mediocre. And the service was lame. Our server was so fake and inattentive. She brought me wine, poured it for a tasting and then walked away without filling my glass! Huh? She repeatedly did this sort of thing throughout the evening. After we decided to have dessert somewhere else (it was our last night and we felt it would be better elsewhere), she basically walked away, returned our check without making eye contact and didn't even say thank you. Mind you, we ordered a bottle of wine, surf and turf and a couple of appetizers--it was not a cheap meal. The sataki was fun and pretty good. The empanadas were okay, a bit dry. The green salad with blue cheese dressing and sunchokes was bland and just didn't make any sense. It really wasn't good. The seafood mac & cheese which had so much potential was dry and under seasoned. Just flavorless. My husband had the surf & turf which he enjoyed. The artichoke side was the tastiest item we had. While the view is okay, I was not impressed with the food. Maybe brunch or breakfast would be better.

Not for everybody. There is some extremely well prepared food here, attentive service, and a well designed wine list. Yes there is a view, but there are lots of great views in Key West. After many visits to Key West, sitting at the Sunset Pier and saying we should try the Roof, we finally did on our last night in Key West. We were completely delighted. The restaurant is situated exquisitely at the Ocean Key House, above the Sunset Pier, Zero Duval Street. A few steps above the noise with indoor and outdoor seating and a south-westerly orientation (hence the view at sunset). It is simply beautiful indoors and out. After sorting through a very innovative menu, we ordered both large and small plates. The scallop picata was light and fresh and unlike any picata you've tried (uggh, I'm now required to replicate this at home). The Cuban was gone before I had a chance to even look. I'm told it was good. The short rib was fantastic - great sweet and savory contrasts. And there was a burger plate that you have to see to believe - really wonder flavors. Use a knife and fork. Even the sides were exciting, my favorite was asparagus with an Asian treatment that was really delicious. We split some fabulous desserts including a unique take on creme brûlée and an excellent rendition of key lime pie. We hit just a fraction of the menu, but all good. The service was attentive, but relaxed. Never felt rushed or abandoned. They have also managed to pipe in Robert Albury (see my review of the Sunset Pier) live as he entertains most nights from 7 to 9 pm. Heaven...I'm in heaven... Highly recommended. (Thanks to Oleg at the Pier for arranging our reservation and insuring a perfect outside table.) And thanks to our server Bill - well done. Don't miss this place.

This place is hard to beat. We didn't even have the high-end food (we had ceviche, the special chorizo manchego appetizer, and the burger) and it was spectacular. The service was top-notch, too. Probably one of the best places hands down when you consider the incredible view, too. Have a sunset dinner here and you'll never forget it.

Atmosphere was beautiful, we had a perfect table for viewing the best sunset of our whole trip. Our server was professional and attentive. He timed our dinner just right so that we could view the sunset and not be in a rush. My caramelized grouper was very tasty , but the sauce was a little on the greasy side due to the sausage in it. My fiancé ordered the filet and the flavor was great, but a little undercooked. Great place to watch the sunset, you will definitely need reservations to get a waterside table.

We went there for our last dinner in Key West. We made a reservation and were hoping for a outdoor table but unfortunately we didn't get it. The view seemed awesome from the window. The service was 5 stars, the Chorizo apetizer is excellent the entrees we had (paella and broiled snapper) were very good and huge (don't go there if you are not hungry!). Wines were fine. Their best dessert is the Key Lime Pie and I must admit it is absolutely delicious!

By request--they gave us primo seats on the balcony overlooking the water to watch the sunset. Stunning views and pretty decor. Service was very accommodating considering most high end restaurants don't welcome children (our 2 year old daughter is very well behaved!). Food- the best we had on our key west adventure. Definitely fit for foodies. Raw Oysters and stone crabs were to die for as was the manchengo Mac and cheese, the baked truffled scallops, and oh the baked dates and blue cheese. All lovingly presented. My husband claims the key lime pie was the best (as they promised) and my chocolate "pate in a cashew nest" with wild berry compote was good to the last lick. Also notable was my pineapple vodka cocktail. What a memorable dinner with a view!!! THE place to eat in Key West!

We were very pleased with the restaurant which you should try to make coincide with the great sunset action. This is the place to watch the sun go down although the bar below is also good. For an appetizer we had Cobia, a fish that is great and hard to find since its not commercially fished, that was served raw on a bamboo stick with a small Hibachi grill at the table for us to lightly sear. Fabulous. I went for the snapper again for the main course and it was also fabulous. We ate Key Lime pie all week and this was the best of the bunch. Just walk down Duval to the end. No need to drive, although there is a parking garage.

I have visited this location at least three times. It is one of the finest dining experiences you will have in Key West. The views are great at sunset. The food is prepared to perfection. The staff is of the highest quality and there to enhance your dining experience. If you are looking for an upscale dining night then this is a great choice.

The view from Hot Tin Roof is beyond 5 stars, this is a great place for cocktails or dinner at sunset as you are looking westward just north of Mallory Square. This is a much more upscale dining establishment than most of Key West, as such its more expensive and more appropriate for a nice romantic dinner or small family gathering. I had breakfast here recently, I arrived on the early side for Key West, around 9ish, and had the place to myself initially. I sat outside which overlooks the Ocean Key Hotel pool and then the water. It was a beautiful day and it was lovely to watch the boats heading out for the day. The service was prompt and friendly but not overly pushy. I had the Noble Benedict, a spicier crab cake eggs Benedict which was very tasty but a smidge too much onion for my tastes. Breakfast came with a side of some type of potato hash that was formed into a square and topped with a mango relish. I'd never seen breakfast potatoes served this way and it was quite good. The whole meal could have been just a touch hotter but it was all very good.

Very nice restaurant if you're looking for high-end dining. The guy in front of us in line flew in to Key West from Georgia just to get the steak based on a tip from a friend, and was flying out afterwards. I decided to try a steak from his story and the waitress recommended the filet over the ribeye. It was very good, equal to or above high-end steakhouse quality, but don't know if I would fly in just to try it. Came with a chimichurri sauce and side of potatoes. I also had an excellent cocktail. My wife had the chicken. We didn't try an app or dessert because our daughter wasn't cooperating. The menu did have some other great sounding meals and cocktails, and as you've probably read, on cool looking back-lit menus. Specials were intriguing as well. I would've tried the parchment baked snapper and chorizo had I not gone with the steak. Dinner presentation was very nice as I saw in some of the pictures. Some of the iced dishes that we saw going by looked to be back-lit like the menus. We also had a few drinks at the Sunset Pier down below the restaurant waiting for it to open. They are separate, but I believe both part of the same hotel. There's a large bar inside the restaurant as well. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. A few bad notes: The doors were locked at 6pm and someone had to call to get us in. Hostess was a bit short with that couple who were very annoyed about it. It wasn't a long wait, and we didn't mind other than wanting to get out of the heat. The hostess also gave us a strange looked when we asked for a high chair, although it was listed on our reservation. Another waiter helped out and got us one. Sounded like they only had that one, so probably not the best place for families. However, the table behind us had a few older children and the waitress did a good job taking care of them. I've ready various reviews about the staff being snooty, but most were very nice including the manager who talked to us after we were seated and as we were leaving.

This place was just ok for the price. They switched waiters on us 3 times and sat us near a door that slammed every time they went in and out. The mojitos were top notch though and the sunset even from inside was gorgeous!

This place is terrific for breakfast and based on all the pixs below, that's the reason most people find themselves there. During a recent stay at the Ocean Key Resort, i had breakfast here all 5 days and loved every day of it. The russian staff are hysterically direct, which i like. Especially before I have coffee. Call me crazy, but i love it.

Shout out to Joseph, our amazing waiter. Definitely the best I had in Key West and maybe the best ever. Really the best place to get an amazing view of the sunset. Be sure to get your reservation well in advance and mention you want to sit outside. Most of our table had large plates but a few of us went with the tapas which was excellent. I really like my bisque and goat cheese. The caramelized Mahi Mahi one of my friends had, which was a large plate, and it was unbelievable. We had the Key Lime pie and it was good but was more like cheesecake then most I have had. Also, somehow we got a coupon for one free round of their custom martini. It was a delicious martini and saved us a ton of money so ask your hotel or different tourist booths because it was definitely worth it.

Excellent food, very good wine list & service. We had a large group of 6 couples and had an incredibly fun evening while seated inside with a picturesque sunset in the background. Would like to try this place again with just my bride & sit out on the deck at sunset.

This place is really special. The dining room is lovely, from the high back very secluded booths to the stunning view. The food is delicious too. But the best part is the service. The host and wait staff we're great. We would have liked to sit outside but there was a horrible cover band playing on Sunset Pier that was very loud (Spring Break). Next time we'll be outside. We we're going to a play at Waterfront after dinner and received a 20% discount because of this (they partner w/ the theatre)! Extra yay points for that! The martini with pineapple infused vodka is really good, not too sweet with good fresh pineapple-y flavor.

The staff, food and atmosphere are just the best! Stumbled in to the best dinner in years and I'm a foodie. The potatoes and asparagus are to die for!

Try the Hot Tin Tini drink - A great way to start off your meal. Try making your reservation around sunset for an amazing view. Service was mixed - The host sat a party of 14 next to us that were loud and rude... Our waiter clearly knew their bill would trump ours and our service suffered as a result. I would go again though, just would make sure that there isn't a big party happening when I made my reservations.

My travel partner had booked us a reservation months in advance, and we were not disappointed. Great view of the sunset? Check. Swank? Check. A superb collection of seafood-oriented tapas items? Absolutely, with especially good oysters and exquisite scallops, but also with some fine duck and a nicely presented pork belly. The pineapple-infused martini was memorable, and best of all for this gluten-allergic gal, they had a Key Lime pie that had a gluten-free crust, so that I got to enjoy even that classic. In short, a place I'd go back to in a heartbeat, not least because they were extremely attentive and thoughtful as far as dealing with my questions about menu items having gluten.

Well - we wish we had a five star appearance with Hot tin roof. Unfortunately, everything was poor. The food, service, ambiance, timing, etc. We dined with friends during the week of December 26th. We had a reservation after 6pm - but were seated early (which was the nicest thing we experienced). The restaurant did not really start filling up until after 7pm. We had a complementary drink card from our hotel staff - and had the hot tin tini. Pineapple infused martini - which was very weak. But it was complimentary - so a nice start. The menu was backlit - which made it easier to read in the dark , but when we sat - the sun had just gone down and it was actually more difficult to read the menu for some reason. We ordered a variety of dishes from the small plates and large plates. The flatbread was a bunch of arugula with a few bits of goats cheese. Limited taste and not really cooked. Oysters were good. The 8oz filet was dry and tasteless. The snapper was dry and the special fish (forget the name) was also dry. It was like our food sat on the chefs tables for 20 - 30 mins before being served. Our waiter visited our table a total of 3 times during the whole meal. If we were just having drinks - that would have been normal - but we sat for almost 2.5 hours before our meals arrived. No comments or apologies or even a visit to the table to ask us for more drinks. After the first one (I guess because it was complimentary) they just didn't come back. Luckily we had met new friends and were very engaged in conversation - and before we knew it hours had passed. We've dined all over the world and have to say this was one of the worst experiences we have had. So, not sure whether the crowd was a killer (busiest time in Key West) or just a bad night. For the money - pick wisely.

We stayed at the Ocean Key for a few nights and initially were a bit hesitant to check out the hotel restaurant (since they were two door down from our room, literally) but after several recommendations we decided to check it out. In hindsight it was one of the best decisions we made, the place IS GREAT!!! For just about $100 we had two apps, two entrees, and a great bottle of wine. Considering these guys probably have some of the BEST SUNSET VIEW dining you'd expect to pay a whole lot more. To boot, the food and services was awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Arrived for an 8pm reservation, waited ten minutes while waitstaff hurried by us, no one making eye contact. When the host eventually showed up, he did not make eye contact or apologize for keeping us waiting but instead just said he would have to clear some tables and disappeared. A band playing at the below bar did not add to the ambiance. After waiting another 5 minutes, we departed to Martin's where we had a lovely, elegant meal. In this economy, and on this island, there's simply no need to give your money to a business who doesn't care about its customers.

The best place to eat a great meal, have great service and watch the sunset. Get the ceviche and the antipasta!! Great Wine!! You will love it. Get there at 6 or 630 in the summer and you will get to pick your spot. I saw someone said bad service. Ask for Joseph, he is 63 and knows his stuff, he will give you exactly what you want. Someone else said the food was just ok, I'm sorry but they are wrong. This place has better food for a lower price than Blue Heaven. Different atmosphere though, this place is for the sunset, not to chill and drink.

What a lovely restaurant! The setting on the water is nice, and at night, the lighting and mood is romantic but casual. There are a lot of authentic regional foods on the menu in season, like Florida lobster, local fish, conch, stone crab....a big emphasis on seafood. Very friendly service, great staff and management. Nothing here is too fancy or avant garde, just enough creativity is applied. Dishes are very cleverly presented, too.
